Settlers entered the western neighbourhood of Umm Safa, north-west of Ramallah, after midnight on Tuesday, 27 October, set fire to three vehicles and wrote racist slogans on several retaining walls, village council head Marwan al-Sabbah told WAFA. No arrests were reported.
The village has been under pressure for weeks. Al Jazeera reported that the home of Mohammad al-Obaiyat, built in 1954, has a demolition order with a deadline of 11 November, and that his family has been besieged by settlers for nearly a month, according to the mayor.
Arson attacks have spread across the Ramallah area this month: Al Jazeera reported a home burned in Deir Abu Mishal and two fires in Burqa last week, one at a memorial and one at the home of a Palestinian-American resident.
