A camp for displaced families at the Shujaiyya junction, east of Gaza City, was burned overnight into Monday, 26 October, displacing more than 800 people, among them women, children, elderly people and patients, WAFA reported, citing local sources in the area.

The agency said Israeli quadcopter drones set the whole camp alight, destroying the tents and belongings of more than 200 families and leaving them without shelter. Rights advocates quoted by WAFA called for relief agencies to provide tents and alternative shelter. The account was not independently confirmed and no Israeli military comment was included.

On the same day, Al Jazeera reported that tanks positioned behind the yellow line opened fire east of Shujaiyya and al-Tuffah. WAFA put the number of people displaced across the Strip during the war at nearly two million. Advocates called the burning part of a policy of forced displacement.
